Review & Description
The ideal is often impossible to achieve - but Vienna gives it a run for its money. Ideally, a loudspeaker's cone construction would be stiff, lightweight and well-damped for optimal sound reproduction. However, most conventional cone materials - like paper, metal or plastic - only meet two of the three criteria. Featuring Vienna's exclusive XPP cone material for the first time on a driver of its size, the Bach Grand's 7" mid/bass driver meets all three. This application of XPP technologies is made possible by the material formulation of X3P. A mixture of Vienna's cone materials, X3P combines: Vienna's proprietary TPX material, a unique thermoplastic employed in all XPP cones, and three polypropylene-based synthetics. The result is high inner damping, increased stability and rigidity, and a larger cone size. You get more accurate sound with less distortion. In addition, your audio experience is enhanced by this cone material's capacity to deliver a widened bandwidth and remarkable level of inner detail, quietness and control. Read more
