3D Technology Checklist
This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:
A Display First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content 3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

VIZIO's 47-inch class E3D470VX delivers an immersive 3D experience, Full HD video with a 120Hz refresh rate, Internet-connected entertainment with built-in Wi-Fi, playback of music and images from USB devices, and solid audio/video performance, all for a price that might surprise you.
Bring the 3D Movie Experience Home
Immersive Theater 3D
Bring that intense 3D movie experience home with VIZIO's polarized Theater 3D. You'll enjoy the same crystal-clear, flicker-free 3D you get in the theater, with similar lightweight glasses that are comfortable and significantly more affordable than the heavier, powered active shutter 3D glasses used with other systems. Two free pairs of glasses are included, so you can launch your Theater 3D experience right out of the box.
2D content is stunning as well. 1080p Full HD resolution and a striking 200,000 to 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio render every image with amazing clarity, color and contrast, while an ultra-quick 120Hz refresh rate provides smooth, super-sharp viewing for fast-action sports and movies.
Optimal Viewing in Any Light
No matter your lighting arrangement, you'll always have the best picture possible thanks to built-in ambient light sensing technology. The E3D470VX automatically adjusts backlight levels based on its surroundings to optimize levels. The result is a balanced picture that will never appear washed out or too bright.
Superior Surround Sound
This HDTV also delivers advanced audio, thanks to SRS technologies. SRS TruVolume limits volume inconsistencies between programming, saving you from those incredibly loud commercials or smoothing out that action film so you don't wake the neighbors. SRS TruSurroundHD delivers an immersive surround sound experience marked by clearer dialogue, and more precise bass and high frequency signals.
Four HDMI Ports
Take advantage of your Full HD sources. Four HDMI ports accommodate your home theater setup, Blu-ray Player, gaming console, and satellite or cable TV, for a wealth of Full HD entertainment.
VIZIO Internet Apps
Easily connect to the Internet and stream movies and TV shows, listen to music and get the latest news, sports and weather. The E3D470VX connects wirelessly over an 802.11n Wi-Fi connection (or via a built-in Ethernet port if you'd prefer) to your home network. Once you're set up, you'll enjoy access to Internet content such as Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and VUDU for streaming TV shows and movies; Pandora Internet Radio for discovering new music; your favorite social networking apps like Twitter or Facebook; photo-sharing services like Flickr and Picasa; and the latest news from the Associated Press and The New York Times. With a simple Internet connection, you'll get all that and plenty more.
The E3D470VX also ships with an enhanced two-sided remote. Up top you'll appreciate one-button access to Amazon Instant Video, Netlix, and Vudu. Flip it over and you get a full QWERTY keypad, for easy data-entry, search, or updating those ever-important social network statuses.
USB Media Player
The E3D470VX features two USB ports, allowing you to connect a thumb drive to your TV loaded with music or photos. MP3 format music is supported (with display of album art and other ID3 tag info), along with JPG images. Here's your chance for a fullscreen slideshow of that family vacation, complete with transition effects.
ECO HD
VIZIO's ECO HD label means this HDTV exceeds the current ENERGY STAR Guidelines, saving you money on your utility bills while limiting your carbon footprint.
